Naval Depth Sounder system measures the water depths using a sophisticated depth finding algorithm and displays the result. Naval Depth Sounder uses sonar which produces high amplitude signals to create a sound source. These transmitted signals hit the sea floor and are reflected from the sea floor. Then the system receives the reflected signals from the sea floor and calculates the ocean depths by considering both the elapsed time (the time differences between the signal transmissions and the signal receptions) and the speeds of sound underwater. Signal profile data is displayed in the TFT LCD screen to show the current sea bottom, and signal information is stored on a real- time basis, which can be replayed afterwards at anytime.
